How will my child get to band?
Shortly after the start of school, the 5th Grade Band Program will commence. Parents are encouraged to provide transportation for their students for this before school activity. Seating for these band students may be limited due to the bus capacity on these regularly scheduled routes which is why it is so important to complete the Band Instructor’s Google form when made available. Transportation is available to students who reside over a mile and 1/2 from the middle schools. Busing is NOT provided for students that live WITHIN a mile and 1/2 (waking boundary) from Prairie Knolls Middle School. Students choosing to use 301 busing must use existing bus stops. Additional or alternate stops will NOT be created. For safety reasons, instruments must be held securely on students lap. The bus driver is not responsible to hold or find a place for band instruments. After processing, an approval or denial will be sent to the email provided. You may use the bus stop information of an older sibling or neighbor for middle school busing information.
How will my child get FROM band to their elementary school?
ALL STUDENTS will be bused from LL, CMS, or PKMS to their local elementary. This is a complimentary service that all students are required to utilize.
While the instruction is free, families need to provide the following materials for their child.
